MMTF hosts several student recitals from October-May giving students, beginner to advanced, the opportunity to perform and receive critiques from experienced judges throughout the year. The recitals take place in-person at a variety of locations in the Twin Cities. Participation in this program allows students to work toward ribbons and trophies as well as the chance to play in the year-end Honors Concerts. Virtual recitals are also offered.

COMPOSITION RECITAL

This recital offers the opportunity for students to perform their original compositions for MMTF teachers, fellow students, friends and family. Each performer receives encouragement and direction following their performance. It is a wonderful opportunity for budding composers to grow in their music writing endeavors.

HONORS CONCERT:

Grades 5-11

If a student grade 5-11 receives an Honors Rating in a regular recital during the school year, they qualify to play in May in the Honors Concert. This event not only gives the performer opportunity to share their exceptional talent, they also hear great performances from fellow winners.

HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR HONORS AND AWARDS RECITAL

This event is an exciting way to end the recital year! Any high school senior who receives an Honors Rating in a regular recital during the school year has the opportunity to perform in this elite recital. Additionally, winners from the Senior Music Award Auditions perform and receive their award.
